Free Fantasy Football Start/Sit Board, Weekly Rankings & Calculator

We built a fantasy football start/sit board for this season. It's free and you don't need an account. It works the way the NRFI board works: one page, updated all week, instead of a new article every Thursday that's stale by Saturday.

The board

The Start/Sit board is about 60 players a week across QB, RB, WR, and TE. Each one gets a Start, Sit, or Toss-Up call with a confidence level.

What I like most about it is who isn't on it. You don't need a page telling you to start Ja'Marr Chase. The board only shows players where the decision is a real decision. The QB8 to QB20 range, the RB2 and flex tier, WR3s, tight end streamers. Plus the occasional player outside that range where our numbers disagree with where everybody else has him.

A card shows the projected points, the player's consensus rank, the matchup, and a one line reason for the call. You can flip the projections between Standard, Half PPR, and PPR at the top of the page. The verdicts themselves are always judged on PPR, so a Sit is a Sit regardless of which number you're looking at. Open the card and you get the evidence: matchup numbers, snap share, what Vegas thinks of the game, and the reasoning written out.

The call itself comes from a fixed set of inputs. This week's projection against the player's season consensus rank. The defense's record against that position. The implied team total and spread. His role and snap share. Whether he's on the injury report. After that an AI pass writes the reasoning and can push a toss-up to a verdict if the evidence is lopsided enough. Both sides of that are on the card, so if you think it's wrong you can see why it landed where it did.

The first pass goes up Wednesday morning after early practice reports and waivers clear. Until then it's labeled preliminary, because a board built before anyone has practiced is less certain than a Sunday morning one and I'd rather the page say that than pretend. Verdicts keep updating through Sunday, then lock at each player's kickoff.

Weekly rankings

The Weekly Rankings page is every fantasy relevant QB, RB, WR, and TE, contested or not, ranked by this week's projected points in whichever scoring format you've picked.

The part worth paying attention to is the chip next to each name. It's the player's season long expert consensus rank, with an arrow for how far this week's projection moves him off it. QB5 with a green ▲4 means the experts have him fifth and this week projects him higher than that. A red ▼ is the other direction. Most weeks, the players with the biggest arrows are the ones worth a second look.

You can filter by position, or hit FLEX to see RB, WR, and TE in one list.

The calculator

The Start/Sit Calculator is for the question you actually have Sunday morning, which is this guy or that guy.

Pick any two players. Same position, or across RB, WR, and TE for a flex spot. It scores both on projection, consensus rank, matchup, game script, availability, and snap share and tells you who to start and by how much. If it's close it says it's close. The toughest pairs of the week are listed under the picker if you'd rather just browse.

Player pages and the record

Every player on the board has a page, like Jalen Hurts: Start or Sit?, with this week's verdict, the numbers behind it, and what we said about him in previous weeks.

Every week also gets its own page once it's been played. Each call is graded against what the player actually scored. Starts and sits are marked hit or miss against a replacement level benchmark, meaning the question is whether you'd have done better with the guy on your bench. Every call is published before kickoff and stays up. I think that's the only way this kind of thing is worth anything.

How I'd use it

Wednesday, skim the board for the spots on your roster that are actually in doubt. Saturday night, check the rankings at your thinnest position and look for the arrows. Sunday morning, put your last two flex options into the calculator and glance at the board one more time for whatever the practice reports changed.

If you see a call you disagree with, the evidence is on the card. Tell me why.
